2. Build relationships and establish a smart promotional schedule.  Being a small business owner is all about using the resources you have to their maximum potential. To compete with the “big boys” you have to be extra savvy.  Start thinking early about your site members and social network friends. Remember: members provide you with their email addresses for a reason: they care about you and what your site provides. So go ahead and use those addresses to promote any upcoming sales via the email blast feature in the Members App.

3. Make it easy for site visitors to find what they are looking for on your website. Your website has just a few precious seconds when a visitor is browsing to make a great impression. Make it easy for your site visitors to quickly locate the products you are selling. Don’t hide the links or put too much unrelated information on your site. One easy way to bring attention to your new products is to turn on your Web Store sidebar options, which enables you to  display featured products.

Here’s to a happy and prosperous holiday season!
